Joy Baglio's short stories have appeared in or are forthcoming from Tin HouseAmerican Short FictionThe Iowa ReviewGulf Coast, New Ohio ReviewTriQuarterly, PANK, SmokeLong Quarterly, and elsewhere, and she's received fellowships and grants from The Corporation of Yaddo, The Vermont Studio Center, Bread Loaf Writers Conference, The Elizabeth George Foundation, The Speculative Literature Foundation, and Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing. Her work has been recognized by numerous contests and awards, including the Ploughshares' Emerging Writer’s Contest (Honorable Mention) and the Wigleaf Top 50 (Very) Short Fictions. She's a Grub Street writing instructor and manuscript consultant, a contributing editor at Bucknell University's literary magazine, West Branch, and the founder/director of Pioneer Valley Writers' Workshop in Western MA where, she lives. She's at work on a novel about identity, origins, marine scientists, and the ocean as well as a collection of short stories.
